White rice flakes, also known as poha, are made from premium white rice that has been carefully processed into flakes under sanitary conditions to retain as much of the rice's nutritional value as possible.

• Aval is rice that has been pressed into thin, dry flakes. These rice flakes absorb water, milk, or any other liquids, causing them to swell when added to a liquid, whether hot or cold. These flakes range in thickness from being almost transparently thin to being nearly four times thicker than a typical rice grain.
• For a sweet twist, you can make a dessert with rice flakes. Soak them in milk, add sugar, and cook until it reaches a pudding-like consistency. You can also add nuts and cardamom for flavor.
• Cook rice flakes in milk with sugar and cardamom to make a creamy and delicious kheer (Indian rice pudding).
