Varalakshmi Vratham – Overview

Varalakshmi Vratham is celebrated on Friday prior to the full moon (Purnima) in the month of Shravana according to Hindu calendar. On this day in 2026, people will perform the ritual of Varalakshmi Pooja in their homes and temples to receive blessings.

According to Hindu belief, the worship of Goddess Lakshmi on this day brings the blessings of all eight aspects of Goddess Lakshmi called Ashta Lakshmis, i.e., Maha Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Vijaya Lakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Vidya Lakshmi, Dhaanya Lakshmi, and Sri Lakshmi. Hence, the performance of Varalakshmi Vratham is considered the same as worshipping all these aspects simultaneously.
