In Hindu religious rites and celebrations, a tiny, flat plate made of brass or other metals called a camphor plate is employed. Camphor plate is known as Sudathattu by tamil devotees. In order to keep the camphor from spilling, the plate is often round or oval in form and has a high rim all the way around. Hinduism uses camphor, a white crystalline material with a strong aroma, as a sacrifice to the gods while doing puja or praying.
Attain the benefits of Camphor Plate:
• A flame is used to light the camphor on the camphor plate, which emits a pleasant smoke that is said to cleanse the area and fend off evil spirits.
• The camphor plate is also a piece of equipment used in the Hindu ceremony of arati, which involves lighting a lamp with a wick and moving it around in a circle while reciting hymns or mantras.
• When performing the arati, the light is held in position by the camphor dish, which also contains additional gifts including flowers, incense, and sweets.
• Camphor is employed in ancient Ayurvedic treatments in addition to being used in religious rites because of its therapeutic benefits.
• It is used to cure a variety of illnesses, such as coughs, colds, and fevers, and is said to have a cooling effect.
