About Varalakshmi Vratham
Varalakshmi Vratham is also known as Varamahalakshmi Vratham. It is a prominent Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the divine consort of Lord Vishnu. In this festival married women do fasting, particularly in South India, in order to pray for blessings concerning prosperity, wealth, and well-being in regard to their families. Sri Varalakshmi Vratham is celebrated during Shravana month's Shukla Paksha and normally falls on a Friday. Varalakshmi Vratham will be observed on Friday, August 16, 2024.

Sri Varalakshmi Vratham is an auspicious day to worship Goddess Lakshmi. During Varalakshmi vratam people do special things to show their love and respect to her. After offering things, people light diyas (lamps) in front of the goddess Lakshmi and sing happy songs. They share special food called Prasad with everyone.
